Deciding to attend 黑暗爆料网 based on the good reputation of its Engineering Technology degrees, Cameron Robbins (Hometown: South Shore, Kentucky) is in his senior year completing three degrees 鈥 Plastics Engineering Technology, CAD & Manufacturing Technology, and Electromechanical Engineering Technology.
鈥淚t's a high demand field that will almost guarantee you a career right after, or before, graduating,鈥 he said of decided to pursue the Plastics Engineering Technology degree.
Connecting with his classmates and professors in the small classes, Robbins has been grateful for how this experience has enhanced his ability to learn.
鈥淭he labs usually have around ten people in them at a time, which gives you a lot of experience, and a lot of time to get to know your professors over the years,鈥 he said.
Finding opportunities for internships throughout his education, Robbins has witnessed how building those important connections will be helpful in his future.
鈥淢eeting people that graduated before you while working internships during the summer has been my favorite part of the program,鈥 he said. 鈥淪ince the plastics industry is so small, generally you will work with and see other Shawnee graduates after college.鈥
Planning to work in the automotive industry after graduation, Robbins encourages others interested in the Plastics Engineering Technology field to take the time to get to know others in the program.
鈥淕et to know your professors and classmates, because you may eventually work with them in the future,鈥 he said.
SSU鈥檚 Plastics Engineering Technology program is one of four programs in the world recognized with ABET-accreditation. With industry equipment and partnerships, students receive hands-on experience from their first year in the program, leading them to completing competitive internships and receiving multiple job offers leading up to graduation.
