ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Office of the Registrar has released the names of those students named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists within the university for the Spring 2026 semester.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø awarded full-tuition scholarships to the top two individual finishers in its annual SUMS Math Competition, held May 12. The event brought together 35 high schools from Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia for individual and team mathematics challenges.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø hosted three regional receptions to formally introduce Coach Mark Snyder as the University’s first-ever Head Football Coach.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is expanding hands-on training in its Advanced Manufacturing Center with the addition of a new injection molding machine provided by ENGEL.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø has once again been recognized as a Tree Campus Higher Education institution by the Arbor Day Foundation, marking the university’s 11th consecutive year earning the national designation.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø and Portsmouth High School celebrated a landmark milestone on May 8, 2026, honoring the first class of the Portsmouth Promise, a college-readiness initiative that awarded 22 local students with scholarships to attend ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, 
 

As Executive Director, Welch will lead the SSU Foundation’s operations and advancement efforts, guiding philanthropic initiatives that support scholarships, academic programs, and student success across campus.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø has announced the 2026 Faculty Awards. As part of this year’s presentation, the recipient of the Board of Trustees Distinguished Teaching Award is Dr. Karen Koehler. An Associate Professor in the university’s School of Education, Dr. Koehler has been with the university since 2017.

In recognition of National Nurses Month, prospective nursing students in the Chillicothe and surrounding areas now have a local path to a nursing degree. ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, in partnership with Adena Health, has officially opened applications for the nursing program at Adena's PACCAR Medical Education Center...

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø has appointed Tyler Walters as Chief Advancement Officer, expanding his leadership responsibilities within the university.
